Arches National Park moves White Rim permits online and plans shuttle launch Sept. 1

National Parks staff told the committee that White Rim day‑use permitting has been moved online and that each bicyclist in a group now needs an individual permit. The park also reported work on signage and campsite improvements and said it expects to launch an Arches shuttle system on Sept. 1.

Park staff noted the system launch will be a substantial operational effort; Arches reported its highest Memorial Day visitor numbers on record and a temporary weekday closure of the Grand Viewpoint overlook trail for improvements. The minutes do not include launch logistics, fare or schedule details.

Park staff will continue coordination with county and city officials on shuttle operations and access improvements in advance of the Sept. 1 target.
