Residents raise water service and feral-cat concerns at Orleans council meeting

At the start of the public-comment period, Orleans resident Bob Gordon addressed the council about a change in the city’s water operator, increased water rates, water supply matters and a recent water outage. The minutes record his remarks but show no council action was taken on those issues during the meeting.

Later in public comment, property owner Larry Pottebaum raised concerns about feral cats near his property. Councilmembers discussed the City of Orleans enforcement procedures for animal issues but again took no immediate action.
