The Post Lake Protection & Rehabilitation District voted unanimously to contract with Flambeau Engineering to update its Comprehensive Lake Management Plan (CLMP), approving an agreement for up to $2,250 with a target completion date of Aug. 1, 2026. The motion, presented by Treasurer Tim Prunty, passed without objection.
The update is required because the district conducts aquatic weed harvesting, a practice that triggers the CLMP five-year review. According to meeting minutes, the board contacted Flambeau Engineering and its consultant Tiffiney Kleczewski to prepare the update; the board recorded the consultant’s agreement to the timeline and fee.
The board also accepted the 2025 Aquatic Plant Survey, which ran July 8–10, 2025. The survey summary presented to commissioners noted a single specimen of the invasive Eurasian watermilfoil was found on the east side of the channel near the approach to Upper Post. The commissioners directed that survey results be incorporated into the CLMP update and emphasized ongoing monitoring for that species.
Votes at the meeting recorded the CLMP contract motion as passing unanimously. The district expects the updated CLMP and the accepted aquatic-plant data to guide weed-management and permitting decisions for the next permit cycle.
