The Eden Plus City Council adopted Ordinance 2841 on July 13, the first budget amendment for fiscal year 2026.
Finance Director Kristen Reed explained the second reading and said she made small changes between the first and second readings. Reed told the council she added $35,000 to pay for two digital reader boards out of the street fund and split the IT transfer across funds using the same allocation percentages as the IT budget. She also said Fund 35 (Facilities Fund) would fall below the city’s reserve policy as a result of the amendment.
The committee reported full support for the amendment and, after a motion and second, the council approved the ordinance on a voice vote.
Why it matters: The amendment moves existing budgeted amounts between funds to pay for equipment and affects the city’s reserve balances; staff and council will need to track the Facilities Fund reserve levels as operations continue.
Next steps: Staff will implement the transfers consistent with the ordinance, and Reed is available to answer follow‑up questions on fund policy and timing.
