Stetsonville repairs water leak, discusses SCADA update and pond sale question

DPW lead Jay Jochimsen presented the municipal wastewater and water reports at the July 13 meeting, telling the board that all test results were within required guidelines and that a water leak—audible in a resident’s basement and outside the house—was found and repaired.

Jochimsen said he had spoken with Nate Nickerson from SEH about updating the SCADA control system in the context of the regionalization planning with the City of Medford. The minutes show the board approved the wastewater and water reports on motion.

A resident expressed interest in purchasing one of the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) ponds after the facility is decommissioned; the board said it would investigate whether the village is permitted to sell the pond or land. Jochimsen also reported on street and maintenance items, including an expected LRIP bid next month, plans to burn a brush pile when wind conditions allow, and an evaluation of a pond‑safe chemical to remove weeds without harming fish. The board approved the street and maintenance report as well.

The minutes do not include technical specifications for the proposed SCADA update, a bid amount for LRIP, or details about legal constraints on selling WWTP property; those items were noted as next steps or pending investigation.
