Lumpkin to begin five-year comprehensive plan with RVRC, in collaboration with Stewart County

RVRC representatives told the Lumpkin City Council on Feb. 10 that they will lead the process of preparing the city’s five-year comprehensive plan in collaboration with Stewart County.

Ms. Destinee Williams of the River Valley Regional Commission said the county partnership will help coordinate planning across jurisdictions. She said several public meetings will be scheduled and emphasized that “it is crucial that Lumpkin's citizens are involved and kept informed throughout.” Ms. Blaine Hoskins joined Williams during the presentation and said the commission will provide confirmed meeting dates when they are available.

The presentation did not include a formal vote; council members listened and will receive meeting dates and related materials from RVRC. The discussion concluded with no immediate action other than the promise of future public meetings and outreach materials.
