The Jericho Bicycle Pedestrian Connectivity Committee on July 13 agreed to promote an informational fact sheet on electric bicycles and set the annual Walk/Bike/Roll to School date for Oct. 7.
The action came during the public-comment portion of the meeting when Sabina Ernst, a public attendee via Zoom, recommended the committee post an e-bike fact sheet at trailheads and distribute it to local schools. Ernst said Local Motion has a resource the committee could adapt and volunteered to provide the material to the committee for review.
The committee noted that the upcoming JTF dam removal project will affect nearby walking trails and that trail layouts will need to be modified after construction finishes. A committee member flagged the adjustment as a planning priority so the fact sheet and school outreach can reflect any route changes.
Committee chair Jess called the meeting to order and the group also approved the June meeting minutes. The minutes approval was recorded by the committee but the transcript does not list a mover, seconder, or individual roll-call votes.
Members said the e-bike material would be suitable for trailheads and school communication; no formal adoption or distribution timeline was recorded beyond Ernst’s offer to provide the draft. The committee left next steps to staff and volunteers to coordinate placement and distribution.
The committee will next convene to follow up on the fact sheet and other seasonal goals.
