Clinton council approves $2.299 million pump-house contract; funding mix includes grant support

During the consent portion of the July 14 meeting, staff presented the low bid for construction of a pump house and related facilities. Mayor Doherty told the council the low bid was from MJM Construction for $2,299,000 and said staff have identified multiple funding sources, including a Bureau of Reclamation grant, to cover the project.

"This was the low bid that came in, MJM Construction. 2,299,000," the mayor said during the consent-item presentation. Council members confirmed competition on the procurement — one member noted seven bidders — and then approved the consent agenda by unanimous voice vote.

The consent motion also updated public-treasurer investment authorizations to ensure current staff (Trevor Cahoon and Steve/retiring staff) remain properly authorized to act. Council approved the consent items without recorded dissent.

What happens next: Staff will proceed with contract finalization and execution under the procurement rules and confirmed funding sources. Project oversight will follow standard public-works procedures and reporting to the council.
