Plain Dealing water superintendent reports B grade, cites failed generators and LGAP application

Kevin Whitton, Plain Dealing's Water Superintendent, told the Board of Aldermen on May 12 that the town's water grade is currently a B because generators are not functioning properly and need replacement. Whitton said the town has applied for Local Government Assistance Program (LGAP) funds but has not yet received word on approval.

Whitton also reported that the public-works crew has been filling potholes and cutting grass around town. He characterized the generator failures as the primary reason the water grade dropped and identified replacement as a needed expense. No funding decision was recorded at the meeting.
