Commissions recommend City Council approve sale of roughly 3 acres in Neillsville Industrial Park to Tim Shaw

Neillsville — At the July 10 joint meeting, the Economic Development Commission and Planning Commission considered a request by Tim Shaw to purchase about 3 acres of Parcel No. 261.1376.011 in the City Industrial Park.

Staff described Shaw’s plan: he intends to acquire an adjacent section of land from Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) and build a warehouse, with construction to begin as soon as closing occurs. Shaw offered $7,500 per acre for the acreage the city owns. Commissioners asked questions and were given answers by staff.

Commissioner Justin Poeschel moved and John Gaier seconded a recommendation that the City Council sell the desired acreage (approximately 3 acres) of Parcel No. 261.1376.011 to Tim Shaw for $7,500 per acre; the offer is expressly contingent on CVTC agreeing to sell the adjacent acreage to Shaw.
