Joint commissions recommend sale of about 3 acres in Neillsville industrial park to Tim Shaw

The Neillsville Planning Commission and Economic Development Commission voted July 10 to recommend that the city sell approximately 3 acres of Parcel No. 261.1376.011 in the City Industrial Park to Tim Shaw for $7,500 per acre.

Luke Friemoth, City Administrator and director of public works, presented the request and said Shaw intends to purchase adjacent property from Chippewa Valley Technical College and build a warehouse as soon as closing occurs. Commissioners discussed the proposal and questions were answered during the presentation.

Justin Poeschel, a committee member, moved to recommend the sale to City Council; the motion was seconded by John Gaier. A voice vote was recorded as "all aye" and the motion carried. The offer is explicitly contingent on Chippewa Valley Technical College agreeing to sell the adjacent acreage to Shaw.

The parcel number and the per-acre price were recorded in the motion. The City will forward the commissions' recommendation to the City Council for consideration and any final sale terms and conveyance documents.
