Maryville Board approves FY26 budget amendment, projects $19.6 million ending fund balance

The Maryville Board of Education unanimously approved a year-end FY26 budget amendment on June 15 that Finance Director Sarah Pritchard said adjusts encumbrances and grant carryovers without changing the district's overall budget. Pritchard reported projected FY26 revenues of about $79.2 million, expenditures of about $76.3 million, and a $2.9 million increase in fund balance, yielding an estimated ending fund balance of $19.6 million.

Pritchard described the amendment as an annual cleanup that includes routine accounting adjustments, carryover of grant funds, and internal transfers for the cafeteria and Adventure Club programs. She also provided updates on outstanding balances related to major capital projects and said the district's auditors will begin the annual audit in August. Because the amendment does not alter the district's overall bottom line, she said City Council approval is not required.

Candy Morgan moved to approve the amendment and Nick Black seconded; the motion carried unanimously. The board did not record individual roll-call votes in the minutes; the motion was recorded as approved by the board.
