Speaker warns council a proposed nightclub at former Moose Lodge could bring noise and complaints

A speaker introduced by the chair as "Mister Malinaro" told the Eden Plus City Council on July 13 that a proposal to convert the former Moose Lodge into a nightclub or event center could bring repeated neighborhood complaints, noise and policing demands.

Malinaro said venues of this type historically attracted alcohol, bands and private events, and warned that placing such a business in a residential area would invite noise and police calls. He recommended that councilors review the municipal noise‑control code ("chapter 8" as cited in the meeting) and consider how a liquor license in a neighborhood location might affect neighbors. Malinaro referenced prior experience with a veterans’ hall (VFW) to illustrate potential impacts.

The council did not take formal action at the meeting on the Moose Lodge proposal; the remarks were part of public comment and were framed as a request that officials examine code and licensing implications.
