Parksley council certifies receipt of coronavirus relief funds and votes to retain local allocation

PARKSLEY, Va. — At its June 8 meeting, the Parksley Town Council unanimously authorized Mayor Wayne Marshall to sign the Certification for Receipt of Coronavirus Relief Fund payments and approved a separate motion to keep the town’s entire CRF allocation for Parksley and its licensed businesses.

Councilman Vince Savona moved both measures. The first motion empowered the mayor to execute certification documents related to the federal CARES Act funds, and the second directed that the town retain its share of relief funds rather than ceding any portion to Accomack County. Both motions passed with recorded ayes from Savona, Matthews, Nash, Parks, Welch and Russell.
