Resident urges Beacon Falls selectmen to end 'flock' surveillance; trooper correspondence recommends speed-camera locations

Selectman Gerard Smith read correspondence from Corporal Piccirillo recommending locations for new speed cameras. Smith said the Traffic Authority will consider speed-camera placement at its meeting next month, giving the authority an opportunity to evaluate speed-enforcement needs and recommended sites.

No formal motion to change surveillance policy was recorded at the July 13 meeting. The board accepted the public comment and logged the correspondence; any future decision about continuing or ending the town's use of "flock" surveillance, or installing speed cameras at recommended locations, would rely on further discussion by the Traffic Authority or a future Selectmen meeting.
