Public commenter urges ARC to coordinate awards, promote July 18 town hall and Marsh Oaks Community Center input

At the July 4 Arts, Recreation and Culture Committee meeting, Sarah Boren, who identified herself as a member of the ESC committee, asked whether Anastasia Houston had reached out to ARC about planning a joint annual awards event and said the ESC is aiming for a November date.

"I think Anastasia Houston is our point of contact, and I think she's aiming for November," Boren said, asking the ARC to confirm who should be the contact and how communication should be handled so the committees comply with public meeting rules. Committee members and staff agreed to share contact information and asked that the ESC copy a city staff member on communications to keep a public record.

Boren also noted a town hall on July 18 at Baker focused on the parks master plan and programming for the Marsh Oaks Community Center, and she asked committee members to encourage residents—especially those in District 12/13—to attend. The chair confirmed the date and staff reiterated they could forward contact details and outreach materials to promote turnout.

Next steps: staff and Boren agreed staff would share contact information for coordination and the committee encouraged members to publicize the July 18 town hall.
