The Waukesha City Ordinance & Licensing Committee approved a slate of bartender and operator licenses at its July 13 meeting, forwarding the approvals to the common council consent agenda for July 21.
Invited renewals included an applicant recorded in the meeting as Jennifer (name appears in the record as "Begrin" and later as "Vergryn"). The applicant and her agent said the renewal was submitted just before the deadline and that she has roughly four to five years of bartending experience. The committee noted one prior serving-a-minor offense but approved the renewal unanimously.
A renewal for Dan Italiano, identified in the record as representing Magellan's, was approved unanimously. A first-time applicant, Andrew Redmond, age 20, appeared with his liquor agent, Matthew Fitzgerald of Chili's. Committee members discussed a recent underage-drinking ticket on Redmond's record; the agent said Redmond had trained under a licensed bartender and was prepared to check IDs. The committee approved his operator's license but advised that the full council might review the item at its meeting.
An agent (identified in the record as "Pravindar") represented Narendra Sencer and said the applicant was currently training; that application was approved unanimously as well. The committee then approved a batch of other operator and business licenses and extensions of premises, including several class B and special-class licenses, a change-of-agent filing, and other routine items; all were passed unanimously and placed on the council consent agenda.
The chair told applicants it was "unlikely" they would need to attend the council meeting but suggested those with recent offenses might consider being present in case a council member pulled an item from consent. Several committee members framed the approvals as routine but said they wanted to preserve committee review for habitual or violent offenses.
