The Franklin County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on July 14 to enter a 28E Agreement with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources that delegates certain permit-issuing authority for private well construction, reconstruction and abandonment to designated county permitting agencies.
Supervisor McVicker moved to approve Resolution #2026-55; Supervisor Lukensmeyer seconded the motion. The resolution states that the agreement establishes terms and conditions for delegating the Department's permit-issuing authority and places emphasis on assuring the county well program meets or exceeds the minimum standards required by the Department. The Board adopted the resolution by roll call (Ayes: Lukensmeyer, McVicker, Vanness; Nays: None).
A copy of the agreement and the full resolution are available from the office of Environmental Health, according to the meeting minutes.
