The Brian Head Town Council on June 23 approved two easements and a change order for special assessment area roadwork.
Planning & Building Administrator Greg Sant presented the first easement request from Rocky Mountain Power for a power line easement across town‑owned property (former Vassals Road) to route electrical service up to the Hoops property near the ski area. The second request from DTD Holdings sought an access and waterline easement on a State Trust Land parcel between Fir and Aspen Drives to serve a two‑duplex vacation‑rental site; Sant said UDOT had conditioned access approval on sharing the cut among several properties.
Council approved both easements on a 4‑0 vote.
On the Brian Head Unit 3 Special Assessment Area road project, Town Manager Bret Howser presented a proposed change order increase. Council Member Larry Freeberg asked whether drainage had been built into the work given steep slopes and downstream risk; Mayor Calloway said historically there is not enough water to require drainage. Council approved increasing the existing contract with Interstate Rock by $61,533.44 in a form approved by the Town Engineer and Attorney.
The council recorded all motions as approved 4‑0; Council Member Duane Nyen was absent.
