Committee forwards two code‑cleanup ordinances repealing obsolete library and health‑code provisions

Two technical, code‑cleanup ordinances introduced by Supervisor Alan Wong were forwarded to the full Board with positive recommendations after brief presentations and no public opposition.

Item 4 repeals an antiquated circulating‑library provision that restricted lending to people under 21 without parental membership cards—language Wong characterized as obsolete. Item 5 removes outdated health‑code provisions about transporting bread, cakes or pastries in exposed baskets and certain industrial wiping‑rag rules. Wong said the repeals do not weaken public‑health protections and simply remove provisions no longer relevant to modern public‑health and commerce practices.

Both items passed committee by a 3–0 roll call and will be sent to the full Board for final action.
