Property Committee approves minutes, vouchers and a hiring request above midpoint

At its Feb. 11 meeting, the Sheboygan County Property Committee completed several routine items, approving the committee’s Dec. 10, 2024 minutes and county vouchers, and authorizing a personnel hire above the midpoint of the applicable pay range.

Supervisor Brian Smith moved to approve the Dec. 10, 2024 minutes; Supervisor John Nelson seconded and the motion carried 4–0. The committee then approved vouchers as presented after a motion by Supervisor John Nelson and a second from Supervisor Gerald Jorgensen; that motion also passed 4–0.

Later in the meeting the committee considered a request to hire a candidate above the midpoint of the pay range. Supervisor Gerald Jorgensen moved to approve the request, Supervisor John Nelson seconded, and the committee approved the request unanimously, 4–0. The minutes do not specify the position title, department, or the candidate’s proposed salary.

The meeting adjourned at 6:02 p.m.; the committee scheduled its next meeting for Feb. 25, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. in Room 302 of the Sheboygan County Administration Building.
