Valley County approves additional facility maintenance technician with HVAC skills

Facility Director Terri Kenneda told the board Nov. 24 that repairs were needed at the Cascade Annex and the Emergency Operations Center, that county building inspections are ongoing, and that capital improvement projects at the Solid Waste Transfer Site are complete.

Kenneda requested authorization to add a facility maintenance technician position and said there was an applicant with HVAC experience considered a good fit. Commissioner Katlin Caldwell moved to approve the additional position and Chairman Sherry Maupin seconded; the motion passed with the board recording unanimous approval.

The board discussed boiler system concerns at the Cascade Annex during the facilities update. Kenneda’s presentation included a request to proceed with hiring the identified candidate to address HVAC and maintenance needs; the minutes record the board’s approval.
