At the July 10 meeting the Jay County Commissioners approved several routine financial and administrative items and made a board appointment.
Commissioner Brian McGalliard moved, and Commissioner Chad Aker seconded, approval of the payroll docket; the motion passed unanimously. The board approved a claim to Cleaver Cabling & Consulting totaling $1,810 for a deputy prosecutor laptop, a $1,010.25 June administration fee to the Indiana Bond Bank, and the June 2023 County Home Report; all motions were moved by McGalliard, seconded by Aker and approved unanimously.
Emergency Management Director Samantha Rhodehamel requested approval for an overnight stay related to Basic Emergency Management training in Columbia City; the commissioners approved the overnight stay.
Meridian Health Services submitted a letter asking the commissioners to appoint a representative to its board, suggesting John Coldren or Doug Inman. Commissioner Brian McGalliard moved to appoint John Coldren to the Mental Health Services Board; Commissioner Chad Aker seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
