Turtle Lake approves Walnut Street sale, declines to advertise Kundert lot; Lincoln Drive price reduced

TURTLE LAKE, N.D. — The City Commission took several actions Feb. 9 on city-owned lots: commissioners authorized advertising a Walnut Street parcel for sale, failed to secure a second on advertising a Kundert Street property, and approved reducing the price for a Lincoln Drive parcel and offering it first to adjacent property owners.

For the Kundert Street property, a motion to advertise for sale failed due to no second. The Walnut Street motion — noting a demolition estimate of $8,500 from K&L Bobcat — was moved by Commissioner Rick Schwalk and seconded by Commissioner Tim Britton and passed unanimously.

A Lincoln Drive parcel received no bids at the listed price ($7,500); commissioners approved reducing the price and offering the lot to neighboring property owners on either side. Commissioners discussed estimated demolition costs for other lots (Kundert Street cited a $10,000 demo estimate), though the motion to advertise Kundert failed.

Next steps: Advertise the Walnut Street property for sale; staff to adjust Lincoln Drive listing price and contact neighbors as directed.
