Hudson lists summer concerts, Riverfest and headline performances at Lakefront Park

Mary Claire Olsen Potter, director of the Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce, described Hudson's summer lineup on Western Wisconsin Journal, highlighting free concerts, festivals and riverfront events for residents and visitors.

Potter said the city's "concerts in the park" series begins Thursday, June 4 at 7 p.m. in Lakefront Park and that most concerts start at 7 p.m., with a few at 7:30 p.m. "So they can check the schedule out on our website or the city website," she said.

Potter listed headline bookings and dates: the Minnesota Orchestra on Thursday, July 9 at 7:30 p.m.; the St. Croix Valley Opera on Thursday, July 16 at 7 p.m.; the St. Croix Valley Community Band on Thursday, July 23 at 7 p.m.; and the Minnesota Jazz Orchestra on Thursday, August 6 at 7 p.m. She said the Chamber and city use the Lakefront Park band shell and advised arriving early for popular concerts.

Beyond the concerts, Potter said Riverfest is scheduled for July 2125 as a community celebration of the St. Croix River that includes a river clean-up day and events organized with the Hudson Rotary Club. "There's one day that is focusing on cleaning up the river," she said.

Potter also noted a valley Pride Fest planned for June 20 at Lakefront Park and described a multi-day Booster Day celebration around the July holiday weekend. "They run July 2nd through the 5th with fireworks in Hudson always on that Sunday night," she said.

The Chamber provides printed schedules at its office and posts updates online; Potter said the Chamber manages artist coordination for the Spirit of Saint Croix events and works with volunteers and partners to stage performances and festivities.

The program closed with Potter encouraging listeners to check the Chamber or city websites for full schedules and to plan ahead for popular concerts and festival weekends.
