Hudson food walk, restaurants and winter patio plans highlighted by Chamber director

On Western Wisconsin Journal, Mary Claire Olsen Potter, director of the Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce, promoted Hudson's culinary and downtown tourism offerings, including the Hudson Food Walk and several restaurant projects aimed at year-round dining.

Potter said the Hudson Food Walk gives visitors guided tours of multiple downtown restaurants and that tour information is available at hudsonfoodwalk.com. She named several participating businesses, including Pier 500, Pedro's Pizza Lounge, Saint Croix Baking, Barker's and Black Rooster Bistro, and said the walk pairs history with tastings.

The host and Potter discussed restaurants that are updating patios and winter seating. Potter said Pier 500 is planning a remodel and that several venues will offer heated or enclosed outdoor seating; she noted Pier 500 will provide winter "igloos" and Max's Social House will install a heated patio with a retractable roof.

Potter said many restaurants draw visitors from the Twin Cities and surrounding areas and that the Chamber keeps printed schedules and a tourism guide for visitors. "We have these guides that are available in our office that we send out to folks," she said, adding the Chamber office at 219 2nd Street provides parking and printed materials.

The segment encouraged advance reservations for popular dining nights and recommended checking the Chamber's online listings for schedules and temporary changes.
