Board approves consent blocks, appoints Miller Avenue principal Molinelli

The Shoreham-Wading River Central School District Board of Education approved a series of consent items and resolutions during its July 10 meeting, taking many items as single blocks and approving them by voice vote.

Items approved included the approval of CPSC/CSC/504 summaries, the June 9 regular meeting minutes, board of education resolutions numbered 2627001 through 2627007, curriculum and instruction resolutions, a block of human resources resolutions, and business and operations resolutions numbered 2627013 through 2627023. Most consent blocks were approved unanimously, with votes commonly recorded as 7–0.

Under personnel items, the board moved to appoint Chris Molinelli as principal of Miller Avenue School. Board members praised Molinelli’s instructional leadership and his focus on building relationships with staff and families.

Several routine governance items also passed: bonding of personnel, authorizations (a–b), and designations and approvals (a–i) were all taken as blocks and approved on voice votes.

Motions were frequently presented and adopted without extended debate; where board members offered comments, they were expressions of congratulations or brief clarifying questions. The board adjourned the meeting after confirming committee assignments and community liaisons.
