4-H members thank Gogebic County commissioners for travel support to Michigan State awards

Ashley Dennis, the county 4-H program coordinator, updated the Gogebic County Board of Commissioners on local 4-H activities during the July 8 public-comment period and introduced three county 4-H members who had received Michigan State Awards. The members thanked the board for a monetary donation that helped cover travel costs to a three-day Michigan State University camp where they participated in classes such as sewing, weaving, yoga and survival.

Why it matters: The board's financial support helped youth participants access statewide educational opportunities and public recognition; local officials acknowledged the county’s role in supporting youth programs.
