Town staff informed the Select Board on July 8 that Eversource intends to begin a substantial pole-replacement reliability project in the coming weeks affecting neighborhoods near Natick Center.
Mr. Erickson said the project involves approximately 115 pole replacements, will use existing easements (replacements within three feet are permitted under current easement language) and is expected to start as early as next Monday. The work will include tree trimming and will be carried out primarily during daytime hours; Ms. Wolschlager added that crew hours are expected to be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Staff posted a project map and created a dedicated Eversource project page on the town website; Eversource also plans door-to-door flyering to abutters and a point of contact will be provided for questions. Town staff emphasized public-safety concerns around temporary double poles and will monitor accessibility and snow-clearing impacts during the multi-week work.
No board action was required; staff said they would continue engagement with Eversource and the community.
