The City of Radford Electoral Board entered a closed session on July 6 to discuss the performance review of Lindsey Williams, the city’s director of elections and general registrar, citing Virginia Code provisions for personnel matters.
Secretary Virginia Ayers moved that the board go into closed session pursuant to the Code of Virginia, section 2.2-3712(A), for the General Registrar’s performance review as required by Virginia Code section 24.2-109.1; Vice Chairman Charles Stewart seconded the motion and the board entered closed session with unanimous approval. The board reconvened in open session at 3:51 p.m. and certified by roll call that only public business lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements and only the matters identified in the motion had been heard, discussed or considered.
No further action or vote related to the performance review was recorded in the minutes; the meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn that carried unanimously at 3:55 p.m.
