Dennis CPC schedules July 23 votes and hears housing, cultural center and minutes updates

The Community Preservation Committee used the July 9 meeting to set its next decision-making steps and to hear several administrative updates. The committee confirmed it will vote on the pending applications (youth baseball accessibility, Bass River study and Portside Park) on July 23, 2026.

Committee members noted that the housing trust will appear on July 16 to request a change to an existing grant agreement; members said they expect select-board review in parallel and asked that any proposed contract changes be submitted in writing. A committee staff member reported that the cultural center’s new director is drafting a historic-restriction document that will go to the historical commission and then to council for review.

Members also discussed procedural details such as circulation of updated application packets and edits to the draft minutes; the committee agreed to collect grammatical corrections and to defer final minutes approval until the next meeting. The CPC chair asked legal counsel to be available in case applicants bring lawyered presentations to the select board or seek contract changes.
