Commission accepts letter of intent to purchase community building after executive session

On a motion by Commissioner Roger Dahmer the commission entered executive session at 9:25 a.m. to discuss the Pendleton County Community Building (PCCB) and a 911 personnel issue. The commission reconvened at 10:41 a.m.; the transcript records that no action was taken during the executive session.

After returning to open session the commission accepted a letter of intent to purchase the PCCB; the acceptance was unanimous. The commission also confirmed appointments of administrators and executors that had been processed by the clerk during vacation of the commission, approved reported settlements of estate accounts, and approved a list of exonerations for specified taxpayers.

The commission received a $25,000 Local Economic Development Assistance grant check from the West Virginia House of Delegates to be used toward PCGSC county offices and ordered allowances payable from multiple county funds. The session ended with a motion by Commissioner Jimmie Bennett to adjourn until July 21, 2026, which passed unanimously.
