The Delaware County Board of Commissioners on July 9 accepted a donation and county contribution to keep the prevention/retention contingency (PRC) school clothing program operating at last year's service levels.
Bob Anderson of Job & Family Services said the Delaware County Foundation provided $100,000 and the agency will contribute $50,000, for a combined $150,000. Anderson said the program will provide approximately $200 per child for school-appropriate clothing and that, with the combined funds, the county expects to serve a minimum of 750 TANF-eligible youth.
Chris Baker of the Delaware County Foundation thanked community partners and said a donor within the foundation chose to remain anonymous. Anderson recognized program staff who administer the program and said the school-clothing voucher is the program's most-used service; he described the funds as necessary to maintain past levels of assistance.
Commissioners thanked the foundation and staff. The board then moved and voted to accept Resolution 26-488 authorizing the donation and related action.
