Council adopts Round Rock�CDBG 2026�27 action plan with $641,705 allocation; city adds $250,000 general fund support

Joe presented the City of Round Rock’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 2026–27 annual action plan and said the city’s CDBG allocation for the coming year is $641,705, a drop of about $30,000 from last year that HUD attributed to population changes in other jurisdictions.

Staff recommended funding allocations that include $30,000 to the Brown Rock Area Serving Center for its food pantry program, $30,000 for rent and mortgage assistance, $20,000 for Williamson County Meals on Wheels and $16,255 for CASA. Joe said staff proposes using up to $96,255 to fund local nonprofits through the project budget and recommended the council commit an additional $250,000 from the general fund to support local social services, making the city’s total contribution to nonprofits $346,255.

The council opened the public hearing on the CDBG action plan; no members of the public spoke and the hearing was closed. Council moved to adopt the resolution authorizing the mayor to execute required HUD certifications and the related funding agreement; the measure passed on the record.
