Planning commission elects new officers and approves minutes

The Newport Beach City Planning Commission convened July 9 and held its annual election of officers, unanimously approving a slate that set Celine as chair, Langford as vice chair and Reid as secretary.

The commission opened nominations and, with no alternatives presented, conducted a roll‑call vote. The motion carried unanimously. Commissioners then approved the June 18 meeting minutes with the edits submitted by public commenter Jim Mosher.

Following the procedural votes, the commission proceeded to public hearings on two development applications and received public comment on items within the commission’s purview.

The meeting adjourned after receiving a report from the deputy city manager on recent Coastal Commission action and scheduling for upcoming meetings.
