Windham — The Windham Economic Development Committee’s Promote Windham subcommittee reported progress on business outreach at the June 5 meeting, including a postponed speaker event and plans for a July business appreciation campaign.
Paul Brozo said the second speaker event was postponed from June 1 to June 24 (6–8 p.m.) and will focus on business growth and development with a business consultant and a CPA as speakers. The subcommittee has begun advertising for a July business appreciation event and is arranging flags and other material for participating businesses.
Jennifer Simmons (America 250) recommended direct, face-to-face outreach to local businesses. Alex Mello said Community Development has budget capacity to cover advertising costs. The WEDC is maintaining a list of interested businesses and volunteers are preparing event promotion materials.
Why it matters: These outreach efforts are intended to increase business engagement with town economic-development programs and to raise awareness of local business-support initiatives.
Next steps: The speaker event is scheduled for June 24; organizers will continue business outreach and finalize promotional materials for July.
