The Hampden Planning Board on July 8 voted to approve a major site plan allowing Alexander Professional Landscaping to build a 35‑by‑35‑foot metal building at 38 Edings Way for equipment and trucks, subject to a signed post‑construction stormwater management contract.
The approval came after a brief presentation from applicant Eric Alexander, who said the new structure would better accommodate his landscaping business. Amy, a town staff member, told the board the application met ordinance requirements except for the required post‑construction stormwater document.
“The lot is currently used for storing my equipment and my trucks; this is to better suit our landscaping business,” applicant Eric Alexander said when presenting the proposal.
A board member moved to approve the 1,225‑square‑foot garage and office with the single staff condition; the motion carried with the chair and all members voting in favor. Amy confirmed the applicant must sign the post‑construction stormwater ordinance contract before moving forward.
The action concluded quickly and the board moved on to the evening’s second, more contested agenda item. The applicant thanked the board on record.
