Hampden council appoints town manager Paula Scott and Brewer city manager Eric Glidden to state legislative policy panel

HAMPDEN — The Hampden Town Council voted unanimously July 6 to appoint Paula Scott, Hampden town manager, and Eric Glidden, city manager of Brewer, to serve on the Maine Municipal Association Legislative Policy Committee.

The council considered nominations referred from a May 11 workshop. The chair recommended Paula Scott "as one of the town of Hampden designated" representatives and spoke in favor of Eric Glidden, saying he had worked with him and "very smart man, very well put together". After a councilor moved to amend the motion to designate both Scott and Glidden, the amendment was seconded and approved; the council then approved the amended motion 7-0.

The appointments fill two current vacancies on the association's panel, which advises on municipal positions for state-level policy and legislation. The chair said a signature document would be circulated for signing before members left the meeting.

The council took the action during the new-business portion of its July 6 meeting; the vote was recorded as unanimous.
