House of Representatives agrees to multiple committee-reported bills, records referrals and adjourns until June 27

The House of Representatives convened at 12:00 p.m. and, after an opening prayer offered by Representative Deresha Parker, quickly disposed of a series of committee-reported bills, received multiple committee referrals and annual reports, and approved a motion to adjourn until Saturday, June 27, 2026 at noon.

The chair announced that Representative Deresha Parker would offer the day’s prayer; Parker invoked Philippians 4:19 and prayed for colleagues and staff, saying, “But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches and glory by Christ Jesus.” The assembly then recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

During routine business, the chair recognized Rhett Nielsen, chair of the Committee on Transportation, to report bills. The House agreed to House Bill 2227, which was reported as committed, and to Senate Bill 1377 after it was reported as committed. The chair then recognized Representative Bridges, chair of the Judiciary Committee, who reported additional measures. The House agreed to House Bill 1434 (reported as amended), House Bill 2273 (reported as committed) and several Senate bills that were reported and agreed to, including Senate Bill 45 and Senate Bill 111 (reported as amended). The clerk later read referrals dated June 26, 2026 sending bills to committees including aging and older adult services, communications and technology, consumer protection/technology/utilities, environmental and natural resource protection, gaming and fisheries, health, insurance and judiciary.

The chair also announced receipt of multiple reports, including a Joint State Government Commission report on recruitment and retention challenges for Pennsylvania police, corrections and prosecutors; a 2025–26 report from the Pennsylvania Ireland Trade Commission; and annual reports from the Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing, the General Building Contractors Association, the Affordable Housing Centers of Pennsylvania and the Commonwealth Judicial Conduct Board. The transcript records a reference to the Intergovernmental Cooperation Authorities Act with a date read as "October 2438," which appears to be a transcription error; the Act itself was cited but the date as read is not plausible and is notated in the official reading.

On calendar management, the majority leader moved that House Bill 2460 be recommitted to the Appropriations Committee and moved to remove several bills and resolutions from the tabled calendar and place them on an active calendar. The chair announced those motions to the House. Finally, the chair stated receipt of a motion from Representative Ledbetter, of Columbia County, that the House adjourn until Saturday, June 27, 2026 at noon unless sooner recalled by the Speaker. The chair called for the ayes and declared, “The ayes have it,” after which the House stood adjourned.

Formal actions taken on the floor during this session were routine approvals of committee-reported bills, the reading of referrals and reports for committee consideration, and the adoption of a motion to adjourn. The House did not undertake extended debate on the measures reported during the session and no roll-call tallies were recorded in the transcript for the bills that were agreed to; where the transcript records only verbal assent it is reported here as such. The House is scheduled to reconvene on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at noon unless recalled earlier by the Speaker.
