Council adopts attendance ordinance outlining excused and unexcused absences

The Clawson Town Council approved a new attendance ordinance that identifies excused and unexcused absences and establishes consequences for repeated unexcused absences.

A Committee member moved to accept the ordinance and a second followed; the council discussed what should qualify as an excuse and how many absences would trigger review. "Motion that we accept a new attendance ordinance," the mover said. Staff member noted that the ordinance makes the expectations clear and will be incorporated into the town’s codified ordinances.
