Town reports $800,000 sidewalk grant, Harbor Plan review and temporary injunction on 40 Prospect Street demolition

At the July 7 meeting Town Planner John Guszkowski reported the Town received a Community Connectivity grant of approximately $800,000 to repair and extend sidewalks in Ivoryton (Walnut Road, Comstock Road, and up Bushy Hill). He also said the Harbor Management Plan is under additional revision at the request of CT-DEEP and that a draft National Register of Historic Places nomination for Essex Village remains under review.

Land Use Official Carey Duques reported the Attorney General’s office had applied a temporary injunction to halt demolition at 40 Prospect Street; a hearing on that injunction is scheduled in August.

No formal actions were taken on these items at the meeting; staff will continue coordination with state agencies and report back to the Commission.
