Commission approves $700,000 for E‑911 and multiple nonprofit grants in FY2026–27 budget

The Bradley County Commission unanimously approved a package of nonprofit appropriations on June 26 as part of the broader FY2026–27 budget process.

Resolution 2026‑15 allocates $700,000 to the Bradley County E‑911 Emergency Communications District and specifies additional awards to organizations including Southeast Tennessee Resource Agency, the Boys & Girls Club of the Ocoee Region, the SPCA of Bradley County, the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce and others. The resolution lists amounts, fund sources, and conditions for disbursement, including requirements that recipients file an annual report prepared by a CPA or certified by the organization’s chief financial officer in accordance with Tennessee law.

Commissioner Milan M. Blake moved the resolution and Commissioner Cindy Slater seconded; the roll call vote was 14–0 in favor. The meeting also approved final FY2025–26 budget amendments and the FY2026–27 appropriation resolution (Resolution 2026‑14) that together set the county’s spending plan beginning July 1, 2026.

The resolution requires recipients to use funds for the specified charitable/public‑purpose activities and to comply with reporting rules under Tennessee Code Annotated §5‑9‑109. County staff will oversee disbursement and verify compliance with the reporting conditions.
