Wylie Planning & Zoning Commission elects new chair, vice chair and approves consent agenda

Chair called the Wylie Planning & Zoning Commission to order at 6:00 p.m. July 7 and opened nominations for leadership for the new term. Commissioner Gooch was nominated for chair, the nomination was seconded and the commission approved the nomination by a 5-0 vote.

The commission then nominated Commissioner Chandler for vice chair; that nomination was seconded and also carried on a 5-0 vote. Commissioners shifted seats and resumed the meeting under the newly elected leadership.

The commission considered a two-item consent agenda. "I'll make a motion to approve items on the consent agenda," the Chair said; the motion was seconded and the consent agenda passed 5-0.

Staff announced there will be three zoning cases on the agenda at the next meeting in two weeks. One commissioner said they will be absent for that meeting due to travel. The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn passed 5-0.
