The Village of Gambier announced that the Ohio Public Works Commission approved funding for the Community Center Stormwater Improvement Project under the State Capital Improvement Program. Administrator Courtney DeCosky said the project agreement will be released through the WorksWise portal.
Separately, the Buildings & Grounds committee reviewed contractor proposals for the Community Center roof and windows. Issac White of Revere Roofing presented a scope that would add insulation and .06" TPO over the existing roof layers; Revere also provided a second opinion recommending a full tear-off but said the State would make the final determination. The committee recommended moving forward with Revere Roofing and hiring an architect to secure permits.
For window replacement, the committee favored Adam Miller Construction over a notably low bid from McCloud and a partial quote from Pella (which covered 12 of 18 windows under the $75,000 threshold). Side Street Studios has completed interior design plans and gym flooring samples are available for final selection.
What happens next: the village will seek permits through the architect path recommended by Revere, finalize window contractor selection pending follow-up, and proceed with interior improvements as budget permits.
