The Richmond City Council approved renewal of TLO Online Investigative Services for the Richmond Police Department during its Nov. 12 meeting, voting 8-0 to authorize a contract not to exceed $2,100 per year.
According to the staff report read at the meeting, the service provides an online public-records database used for investigative purposes and in-depth background checks. The department had previously accessed the software through another agency that can no longer provide access. The renewal covers up to 500 monthly transactions at a rate of $175 per month and is budgeted in account 10-11-00-7090 (Computer Software & Hardware).
Councilor Deanna Guy moved to approve the renewal with a not-to-exceed amount of $2,100 and authorize the City Administrator to sign; Councilor Ron Peterson seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Next steps: The City Administrator will execute the renewal and the police department will continue service under the renewed arrangement.
