Airport advisory commission approves 2026–27 annual goals; adds transit‑first language

The Airport Advisory Commission voted unanimously to approve its annual goals for the 07/01/2026–06/30/2027 reporting period, incorporating a friendly amendment to emphasize transit as a priority mode for multimodal connectivity.

Commissioner Trimble proposed the change to the goal on enhanced multimodal connectivity, asking that language be revised to read "enhanced multimodal connectivity to and from AUS with a priority on transit connectivity," citing long‑term parking constraints and the need to work with other agencies on transit options. The chair indicated no objection and the amendment was added to the motion.

Commissioner Chu asked staff to consider developing a concise, public-facing dashboard tied to the first goal that would highlight schedule, budget, resilience and overall program health to improve the commission’s oversight and public accountability. Chair and staff agreed officers would work with Jason Alexander and Commissioner Chu to scope a dashboard for a future agenda item.
