Planning commission accepts applicant's request to postpone Backyard Solutions special‑use hearing

The Cherokee County Planning Commission on July 26 accepted the applicant’s request to postpone the public hearing on a special-use permit application for a pool contracting business filed by M and A Backyard Solutions.

Ms. Stallings (planning staff) told the commission the applicant submitted a request to postpone after the deadline to withdraw and said the applicant plans to revise the site plan to respond to concerns raised at a prior work session. Commissioners discussed the logistics and suggested that, because plans may change, there was little reason to proceed with a substantive discussion at this meeting.

One commissioner moved to postpone the hearing; another seconded. The commission voted to accept the postponement and carry the item to a future meeting; the chair announced the motion carried unanimously. Ms. Stallings noted the applicant indicated it may take some time for the revised materials and the item might not return at the next meeting.
