Mark Nelson elected chairman; Dave Dietrich chosen vice chair of Woodbury County Board

Supervisor Mark Nelson was elected chairman of the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors in a unanimous roll-call vote during the board’s meeting. The motion to elect Nelson passed 5-0 after a nomination and second were recorded; the board then moved to organize seating and administrative housekeeping.

Nelson thanked outgoing chairman Dan Bindrum in brief remarks, saying, "I would like to thank outgoing chair, Dan, for being a great team player this past year and including me as vice chair." The board affirmed the election by a formal roll call that recorded five ayes and no opposition.

The board also elected Supervisor Dave Dietrich as vice chair by unanimous roll call after Dietrich accepted the nomination. Following the chair and vice-chair elections, members discussed switching seats and asked the budget director to update names and roster items to reflect the changes.
