Board hears report on District Health agreement renewal and morgue facility work

During item 7, a supervisor reported that staff met with District Health to begin renewing a 2080 agreement set to renew next January and that the county is "getting ahead of the ballgame" to bring proposed changes on maintenance and rents to the board for oversight.

The same speaker also updated the board on the county morgue project, saying cooler specifications are being finalized after work with a cooler vendor and that MEI, Liz Ford, and building-service director Kenny Smith are coordinating the design. The speaker said Kenny Smith is preparing a budget for facility layout and security improvements and identified needs such as lighting and a ramp to accommodate gurneys.

The board was told staff will solicit bids once specifications are finalized and will return recommended contracts and budgets to the board for approval. No formal action or contract award was taken at this meeting; the update was informational and intended to prepare the board for forthcoming procurement and budget requests.
