Salisbury commission continues two public hearings and tables most agenda items amid storm outages

The Salisbury Planning and Zoning Commission on July 6, 2026, continued two scheduled public hearings to the commission's next regular meeting on July 20 at 6:45 p.m. via Zoom because of widespread power outages that could affect attendance. Both continuations passed by unanimous vote, with motions made by Secretary Bob Riva and seconded by Alice Macchi.

Land Use Director Abby Conroy told the commission that the applicant for regulation amendment #2026-0315 (Lime Rock Park II, LLC) agreed in writing to a continuance; the hearing was opened and then continued. Secretary Bob Riva read the legal notice to open the hearing for special permit #2026-0323 (62 Rocky Lane), and the commission continued that hearing as well. Both continuances were recorded as votes of 5-0-0.

Because of the outage-related amendment to the agenda, most remaining items were tabled for a future meeting. New-business applications placed on the agenda but tabled included site-plan and modification applications (#2026-0325 300 Between the Lakes Road; #2026-0326 26 Undermountain Road; #2026-0327 17 & 19 Perry Street). Pending item #2026-0316 (117 Interlaken Road) was left pending engineering review. Two temporary zoning permits (#ZP-26-55 for 112+138 Housatonic River Road and #ZP-26-48 for seasonal operation at The White Hart) were also tabled. Chair Cathy Shyer also took a moment to note that July 6 would be Land Use Director Abby Conroy's last meeting and expressed appreciation for her years of service to the commission.

The commission made no substantive decisions on the tabled items at this meeting and adjourned at 6:51 p.m.
